Your child’s first set of chompers are a big deal!
They serve as placeholder for adult teeth and are essential to good nutrition, speech and psychological development. If teeth are infected or lost too early, your child may develop speech problems, poor eating habits and crooked teeth. Additionally, damage to baby teeth heightens the risk of adult teeth ending up damaged and misfunctional.
If you want the best outcome of your child’s oral health, make sure you take advantage of the CDBS . Eligible children between the ages 2-17 are entitled to $1000.00 every two years.
Don’t know if your child is eligible? Give LifeCare Dental a call and our friendly receptionists can call Medicare for you. We just need the child’s Medicare Number.
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) commenced on 1 January 2014 and provides access to benefits for basic dental services to around 3.4 million children aged 2-17 years.
The CDBS has a means test, which requires receipt of Family Tax Benefit Part A (FTB-A) or a relevant Australian Government payment.
The CDBS provides individual benefits for a range of services including examinations, x-rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canals and extractions. Benefits are not available for orthodontic or cosmetic dental work and cannot be paid for any services provided in a hospital.
