About Me

Dr Ashanth Phillips is a caring, gentle and friendly dentist who completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at Otago, New Zealand in 2007.

Ashanth previously worked at country and suburban practices in New Zealand, and joined the Lifecare Dental Team in 2011. This has provided Ashanth with a broad range of experiences in nearly all aspects of dentistry.

Ashanth has a special interest in orthodontics, or the movement of teeth to give you a better smile!

He spent 2013 and 2014 studying with Progressive Orthodontics and is the only dentist at LifeCare in the City that can provide treatment with braces. He can also provide Invisalign treatment, which are like invisible braces. He loves using these tools to make peoples’ smiles beautiful, and seeing the change in self-confidence that comes along with it!

Early in his career, Ashanth spent a few weeks giving volunteer dental care in Cambodia, and speaking to and training Dental Students in Phnom Penh.

Outside work Ashanth enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and travelling to new places. He also loves cooking, listening to music, watching movies, gaming and watching Formula 1. He has previously volunteered at RTRFM as a host and played a broad range of music. He also plays the drums and loves to have a jam!
